Even at 75mm (150mm in 35mm terms) you can still see the compression in the lanscape that is not visible at shorter focal lengths. These mountain ranges are miles apart in reality, but appear to be just behind each other in this image. I don't get a chance to photograph something like this too often, so when I do get the chance I take as many different photographs as I can at every folcal length at my disposal. With the 75-300 lens attached I worked the scene but the best image came out at the 75mm setting. There was just enough of the mountain ranges visible to show the compression.

12/09/12 Landscapes IIWhen we were up at 3000m and looking across at these massive peakes across the valley, we were speechless. We just looked for ages. At first I left my camera where it was and just sat taking in the scenery. All around us, whichever way you looked this is the sort of view we had.
I think sometimes it does some good to stop photographing the land and sit and enjoy what's in front of you. It took me some time to realise that. 2163

12/08/12 LandscapesMy true love is photographing landscapes much like the image above. I'm not saying I'm any good at it but that's the sort of photography I love doing. This was taken in the Dolomite region of Italy and for those who have never been there, you should go. Amazing lanscapes to be photographed and scenes that you will never forget. Unfortunately this was quite a hazy day but when your up that mountain at 3000m you really don't care. Some people never get to see these scenes from this height and it really saddens me because I believe everyone should get the chance to see things from a different perspective. When you're up there and just look around, you realise just how small we really are. 3188

12/06/12 Olympus mZD 75-300 on the OM-DWhat an excellent lens this is. Much prefer it over the Panasonic 100-300. This was taken at 75 at f8. I'll be posting some shots taken at 300mm soon so watch out for those. Yes, it's dearer than the Panasonic but well worth it in my opinion. 1808
E-M5 Focal Length: 75 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/800 sec ISO: 200 03/28/11 Lone CloudThis is one image that I like. The mountain range in shadow and the one lonely cloud above. There was harsh light but I could see this hills (well they are bigger than you think) in the backgroud between two others that were totally in shadow. I like it but maybe I should have underexposed a little more.
The next two images to follow in the couple of days will show what fun it can be to play around with images like this one. I believe this to be my favourite from the trip. 2912
E-PL1 Focal Length: 63 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/2000 sec ISO: 160 03/25/11 Lone TreeSpotted this lone tree growing along one of the many paths traversed to get to mountain top. Photographing this gave me a good excuse to stop and have a breather. I just like the gree against the very blue sky. What I have noticed is that a blue sky is not just a blue sky. In southern countries the blue seems to be a deeper shade of blue. I prefer it to the blue of the northern European countries. I try and take in everytime, but it impresses me again the next time I see it. 2200
E-PL1 Focal Length: 17 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/640 sec ISO: 200 03/24/11 CloudsHave I mentioned how much I enjoy photographing clouds? Well, I do, just in case I didn't mention it. We were out on a little 4 hour walk when I looked behind me. This is what I saw. That cloud coming over the hill looks like it had some precipitation in it. It did. One good thing though, we got back before the heavens opened up. I'll be posting an image soon showing what actually came down. Not nice for those that were still out.
Some nice contrast here between the sky and the very yellow gorse that seems to everywhere in the Spanish mountains. I also like the olive tree on the center left. Those branches makes the tree come to life. 3447
