mZD 14-150 on the E-PL1

mZD 14-150 on the E-PL1

This lens is very versatile. With an equivalent 28-300 in 35mm terms (a lens I would never have bought for a DSLR) I was very surprised by how good it really is. In my earlier posts I believe I've posted many images from this lens. It's a favourite of mine when going on walking holidays. It is small, light and produces great images.

Olympus E-P2 and the mZD 9-18 Lens

Olympus E-P2 and the mZD 9-18 Lens

It might be difficult to see in an image this size but the detail in all parts of this image is astounding. The lens is actually great for indoor use, say churches or museums.

Olympus E-P2 and the mZD 9-18 Lens

Another flower shot and it's the detail in this one that I find impressive. I must admit I haven't been using this one often enough. I think it takes time to get to know a lens, the more you use it the better you know the lens, the better your images get.

I would just like show what this little lens is capable of. I took it out to the local park because I knew that the flowers were in bloom at that time. The lens can give you a great perspective on things, it is very sharp and contrast is very good. Worth every penny.

Samsung NX10 and the 30 f2 Pancake

Samsung NX10 and the 30 f2 Pancake

The last image from this camera and lens for now. I thought it would be a change from the m4/3 scene and see how other cameras do. I like the bokeh in this one and the 30 f2 hit the mark with the focusing. The camera helped some too. Like I said, not the fastest focusing camera, but it nails the focusing nearly 100% of the time.

Another APS-C sensor camera is the Samsung NX10. Not the fastest focusing or the fastest to download the images to the card, but I do like the images it takes with the 30 f2 pancake lens. The rendition is really nice as can be seen on the horses coat.

How good can the E-PL1 be?

How good can the E-PL1 be?

Just to show how good the E-PL1 and the Panasonic 14-140 lens can be, I only had a couple of seconds to take this image of a Hummingbird Moth. For those of you have seen them, you know how quick they can be. They only stop for a couple of seconds at each bloom. Some say that focusing on the E-PL1 is slow, but after I took this picture I'm wondering what slow is. It's plenty fast for me.
Don't forget, this lens is pretty heavy compared to other m4/3 lenses and is made for video. There's a lot of glass in there to move when focusing.

Olympus E-PL1 and the 14-42 kit lens revisited

Olympus E-PL1 and the 14-42 kit lens revisited

This is another of my favourites. That light in the upper left is a lighthouse. It must have taken me at least 50 shots to get this one. I was either too early or too late as the light was rotating. Still, I got it in the end.

Olympus E-PL1 and the 14-42 kit lens revisited

Olympus E-PL1 and the 14-42 kit lens revisited

This is one of my favourites with this lens. But who would have thought that this lens could take an image like this is such low light. Well, I thought it could. Again, it may be that I have a very good copy of this lens. This also speaks volumes about the Olympus IBIS. A lot seem to think that ILIS is much better and it may well be, but IBIS gets me these shots too.
