06/03/13 Panasonic GF1 - Panasonic 14-45 f/3.5-5.6 Kit LensI find it really hard to sell my equipment, as a matter of fact I don't (apart from what I consider really bad). I haven't bought all that much equipment that I consider really bad, I always attempt to work within the boundaries of what a certain lens or camera can do. If need be (and quite often it is so) I change my post processing workflow to suite the equipment. I think most people do this as equipment characteristics differ.
One afternoon I decided to get the old Panasonic GF1 out of the drawer and stick my favourtite kit lens on it; the Panasonic 14-45 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. I still consider this the best kit lens ever made (although the Fujinon X 18-55 F2.8-4 lens is also a very good lens). One attraction of the m4/3 system is that the lenses are interchangeable with all the cameras made by Olympus and Panasonic. That, to me, is a great plus.
Right now I'm really struggling to get the correct colour from the newer Panasonic bodies but not with the Olympus cameras and since Panasonic has some good lenses lacking in the Olympus corner I just mount those on the Olympus bodies. I think the only Panasonic body I has really great colour from is the DMC-L1 which I still have and use with the PL 4/3 14-150 lens. A really remarkable combination. However at only 7.5MP it's not really competing with the newer models for resolution. Having said that I've printed out images at 80 x 60 cms and they look great. 1177

05/08/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensThe last conversion you are going to have to look at. I hope these images have shown at least some people just what this system is capable of, and I hope it has been of some interest to the rest.
Again very detailed and what I like about this image is the overcast sky. I couldn't tel the difference when I was taking this but in the conversion you can see the different cloud strength by the different tones. All this done without the banding problem I was experiencing with the old 12 megapixel m4/3rd sensor. The OM-D is much better in this respect, but then again, they used a different manufacturer this time around. A very good decision if you ask me. 1317

05/07/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensThis will be the last image that I'm going to show from this combination at the moment. Some of you might be please about this, but I'm so enthusiastic about this system I just had to post these images over the last couple of weeks. 1164

05/06/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensThere won't be a conversion for this image, I just thought I'd slip it in because I like it. These buildings are in the west harbour area of Frankfurt, Germany. 1243
X-E1 Focal Length: 55 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/400 sec ISO: 200 • Fujifilm • X-E1 • 18-55 f2.8-4 • kit lens
05/05/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensSharp, detailed and lots of different tones within this image. 1325

05/04/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensAnd the next one. I find that the Frankfurt skyline offers me everything I need to test cameras and lenses. Notice how sharp these image are, and it has nothing to do with a lot of sharpening. These images are very sharp coming out of the camera. 1169
X-E1 Focal Length: 35.8 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/450 sec ISO: 200 • Fujifilm • X-E1 • 18-55 f2.8-4 • kit lens
05/03/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensThis a different format to the previous image with a slightly different angle of view.
I don't like flat monochrome images, hence the reason for the high contrast in these images. They are more pleasing to my eye. 1234

05/02/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensOver the next three days I'll be posting some images that may seem to be the same. I can assure you they are slightly different, and a different workflow used for the conversions. 1138
X-E1 Focal Length: 18 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/550 sec ISO: 200 • Fujifilm • X-E1 • 18-55 f2.8-4 • kit lens

04/30/13 Fujifilm X-E1 and the XF 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 Kit LensThe last image to be posted in April is another conversion candidate.
Ober the next couple of days I'll continue to post this sort on image just to show how well these images convert to B&W. There won't be a lot of comments on the images (unless I want to point something particular to you). 1105
