Olympus OM-D E-M5 - Panasonic PZ 14-42 f3.5-5.6

I'll start this year off by posting another image from the Panasonic PZ 14-42 f3.5-5.6 mounted on the Olympus OM-D E-M5, which will be the last in the series.

The above image was taken at f8 and the lens was at full zoom, 42mm, and I'm quite satisfied with the quality. If anyone has an idea why this lens seems to perform better on the E-M5 please let me know as it's a bit of a puzzle to me. I would have thought it would have performed better on the manufacturers own bodies, but that is not the case (in my opinion).

Olympus OM-D E-M5 - Panasonic PZ 14-42 f3.5-5.6

I personally like the above image and it was taken at 30mm, which is in the middle of the focal range of this lens. Sharpness should be at it's maximum at this point. Aperture was f8, and I don't tend to stop the lens down further than that on the m4/3 bodies. If you do step down further than f8 you will more than likely see some diffraction creeping in and image quality will suffer.

Generally speaking, I find pancake lenses a good idea, but I'm finding that due to the design of the lenses, quality does suffer somewhat. The image above could easily be printed on A4 but you might find it suffers if printing any larger.
