Don't let anybody tell you that focusing with this lens is slow. If it's fast enough to copture this bee in flight it's plenty fast for me. Again shot at f1.8.

Focusing was quick and spot on for this one. It was really just a quick snap in passing but I'm really quite impressed.

Another check on how the bokeh looks at f1.8. Not the best but I'm not complaining.

I thought I would capture this one with a crop in mind (since you don't have the option of doing 1:1 ratio images on the Nex system). The water lilly is dead center with the window frames dividing the images into a "Rule of Thirds" grid. I thought it worked out quite well.

This image really does have a 3D look to it. You may not be able to see it at this size but it really is there. The yellow flowers in the foreground pop out of the image. I wish all my lenses gave me this. The images remind me of the SEL 18-55 kit lens. That lens is also exceptional I think. It gives me the same kind of rendition as the 50 f1.8.

Again it locked on the flower in the foreground at the first attempt. I composed this one to see how the small fountain in the backgroud would appear in the image. I like what I see. The water isn't blown out either so exposure seems to be good.

Believe it or not, saturation has not been increased in this image. The micro contrast and clarity of this lens is really this good. Colour are also true to they looked so you could say that I'm pleased with this lens when used in bright light. What I haven't tested yet is how the system behaves at dusk or indoors in not so great light.

Focus here was on the formast flowers at the top. It locked at the first attempt but like I said in my post yesterday it's not the quickest system on the market. The Nex-5N is also a superb camera. The sensor is very very good but I prefer the Tri-Navi of the Nex-7. Bokeh is also very good, just look at the images from my previous posts.

This was converted using Nik SFXII. Well captured by the SEL 50 f1.8 and that Nik software is hard to beat. Really worth the money. Lots of detail in those leaves and I like the tones produced by SFXII.
