One thing I REALLY like about the G5 is that I can have the level indicator AND the histogram in the display AT THE SAME TIME. This has never been possible on the Olympus cameras, and I can't figure out why not. If Panasonic can do it why can't Olympus. You have to push the info button on the Olympus cameras to scroll through the views. It really gets to me that and the one thing that I wish Olympus would fix. That's just a firmware fix, which can't be all that difficult .....is it Olympus?

01/05/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.61648
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 45 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 1000 • autumn • colours • Panasonic • Lumix • 45-150 f4-5.6 • G5 • landscapes
01/04/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I like the grip on the G5 (which is the reason I don't have a G3). It's has a very nice feel to it when holding in my right hand, which is the way I carry my cameras when on a walk. The camera is connected to my wrist of course with an Op-Tech wrist strap. I think they are the best on the market.
The Panasonic cameras, for me, are much more comfortable to carry than the Olympus cameras as they lack a grip that I can wrap my fingers around. 1474
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 150 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/250 sec ISO: 1600 • autumn • colours • Panasonic • Lumix • 45-150 f4-5.6 • G5 • landscapes
01/03/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6This is the type of image I really like to take during the autumn period. Don't we all?
Focusing is quick with this combination, and I didn't get one missed focused image during the outing. That was a total of some 500 images. So I can safely say that focusing is also accurate with the combination.
Nice colours on that image don't you think? 1885

01/02/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I did notice some noise creeping in at ISO 1600 on the G5. More than I like really and it's nowhere as good as the Olympus OM-D. Having said that, I might need to look into my development process. rthis was the first time I had done some G5 raws so I might have a problem there. I just can't see Panasonic churning out a camera after all this time with the amount of noise I was experiencing. 2580
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 80 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 1600 • autumn • colours • Panasonic • Lumix • 45-150 f4-5.6 • G5 • landscapes
01/01/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6Like I've said i the other posts, please don't take these images as a real test of this lens capabilities. By that I mean they were taken on a very quick walk through some woodland without much though process behind it. If you like, just call them snaps and have done with it.
The lens does focus very quickly with the G5t, I haven't tried it on any other camera at the time of this post. I might do that at a later date, or I'll just leave it altogether because the older cameras do NOT focus as fast as the G5. 2121

12/21/12 TuscanyThis is a typical morning landscape scene in Tuscany. The rolling hills, the mist clinging to the bottom of the valleys and someone somewhere burning some dead greenery. Don't you just love it? 1377
E-M5 Focal Length: 100 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/2000 sec ISO: 400 • Tuscany • landscapes
12/16/12 Tuscany LandscapesAgain another typical Tuscan scene. The Poplar trees along the driveway and the vineyards off to the left of the image. In the background you can see the rolling hills of the Tuscan region. Really delightful to just drive around and stop to take a photo whenever the fancy takes you.
As you can see from the exif my trusted mZD 14-150 was mounted during most of my drive around Tuscany. The range of the 10.7x zoom was just so practical.

12/15/12 Tuscany LandscapesThe town in the background is called San Gimignano and is a very popular tourist attraction. If you can manage it, go there during the week and not on a weekend. It's very crouded. I think it's one of the most interesting towns I've ever been to, very pleasant to walk throught he small alleys and streets with some very nice shops (and not only touristic shops).
It's got an interesting story to it regarding the towers you can see. The towers used to be the homes of the rich a couple of centuries ago. What normally happened and did in most other villages in the area is when the towns and inhabitants got richer, the towers were demolished and normal houses were built. That's why these towers can only be really seen in San Gimignano. It was too poor at the time to demolish the towers and so they've stayed there until the present day. Now of course, they're a huge touristic attraction and all of the other towns in the area wished they had them too. That's life I suppose. 1442

12/14/12 Tuscany LandscapesHaving seen many landscape images of Tuscany I've been wanting to visit the area ever since. Well, in September I had the chance but the weather was not ideal. We had a lot of rain and mist which really put a stop to the sort of images I wanted to make. However, there were a couple of days that showed some promise so I was on the road from morning till the sun set. You have to make the most of what is offered.
This is the sort of scene I had imagined and I had a couple of chances to get some nice images like the one above. It was a little hazy though but that didn't stop me at all. This was the only chance I was going to get for some time to come. Even id the images are not "exhibition quality", they are mine and I like them enough to hang on to them.
As a sidenote to a post I made a couple of days ago about abandoned farmhouses. The farmhouse at the top of the image is still in use, but the one further down on the left in the image, is not. Again it's been abandoned for some reason. There was still a "for sale" sign on it which gave the impression it had been there for quite some time. 1272
