This image really does have a 3D look to it. You may not be able to see it at this size but it really is there. The yellow flowers in the foreground pop out of the image. I wish all my lenses gave me this. The images remind me of the SEL 18-55 kit lens. That lens is also exceptional I think. It gives me the same kind of rendition as the 50 f1.8.

Again it locked on the flower in the foreground at the first attempt. I composed this one to see how the small fountain in the backgroud would appear in the image. I like what I see. The water isn't blown out either so exposure seems to be good.

Believe it or not, saturation has not been increased in this image. The micro contrast and clarity of this lens is really this good. Colour are also true to they looked so you could say that I'm pleased with this lens when used in bright light. What I haven't tested yet is how the system behaves at dusk or indoors in not so great light.

Focus here was on the formast flowers at the top. It locked at the first attempt but like I said in my post yesterday it's not the quickest system on the market. The Nex-5N is also a superb camera. The sensor is very very good but I prefer the Tri-Navi of the Nex-7. Bokeh is also very good, just look at the images from my previous posts.

This was converted using Nik SFXII. Well captured by the SEL 50 f1.8 and that Nik software is hard to beat. Really worth the money. Lots of detail in those leaves and I like the tones produced by SFXII.

Checking focaus and bokeh again. It really cougght this plant swaying, again. Tried this twice in succession and succeeded both times. Bokeh looks good again and the white flowers at the bootom were not overexposed. The more I use the Nex system, the more I like it.

Another bokeh shot. Looks good to me. Nailed focus too as the plant was actually swaying in the wind. I've now set focus on the Nex to DMF. That allows me to tune fine focus manually after the system thinks it's locked focus. Tried it a few times when I was testing the lens and seems to work quite well. I think I'll keep it on this setting from now on.

Detail looks good and the leaves are really that green. BTW, the flower looks not quite white for the simple reason it wasn't. It was pale lilac in colour which actually does show in the image. Really impressed so far.
