02/14/12 Olympus E-PL1 and the 14-42 kit lens revisitedComing back to that 14-42 kit lens again, the one that folds into itself meaning the m4/3 one. The images I get from this lens are good enough for me, meaning I don't pixel-peep and judge the results on what I see on print or looking at the image at Print Size in Photoshop.
Judge for yourselves if these are good enough. 1482
E-PL1 Focal Length: 42 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/500 sec ISO: 200 01/12/12 Panasonic GF-1 with the 14-45 Kit Lens. This was taken at the port in Malaga,Spain. Weather wasn't great but I prefer this sort of weather to full sunshine. One doesn't get harsh shadows and the dynamic range doesn't exceed that of the sensor. Pretty sharp too. The full sized image looks pretty good. I'll say it agin, the 14-45 kit lens is really a great lens offering a 28-90 range in 35mm terms which is enough for every day normal use. 1910
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 18 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 10/2000 sec ISO: 100 01/11/12 Panasonic G1This is really an old camera by todays standards but I think it takes great images especially with the 14-45 kit lens and the 14-140 which was designed for video, but offers a good focal lenth range (28-280 35mm equivelent). And who said you can't get good bokeh with m4/3 equipment. AF nailed this one no question. 1808
DMC-G1 Focal Length: 140 mm Aperture: f/9.0 Exposure Time: 10/2000 sec ISO: 500 01/10/12 Panasonic GF-1Talk about low light. What actually drew me to this was the shadow on the wall. I thought it would be great for a B&W conversion. This was taken handheld. It was actually a number of images taken here as I wanted to be sure I got a good one. There were quite a few with signs of camera shake.
Converted to B&W in Photoshop. 1146
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 20 mm Aperture: f/1.7 Exposure Time: 10/600 sec ISO: 100 01/09/12 Panasonic GF-1Same combination. Taken in Spain during the one day of rain we've had there while on holiday. Well it was a quick shower and that was it. 1464
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 20 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 10/1250 sec ISO: 100 01/08/12 Panasonic GF-1Again with the 20 f1.7. Really great for low light work. 1222
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 20 mm Aperture: f/1.7 Exposure Time: 10/300 sec ISO: 400 01/07/12 Panasonic GF-1I'm still quite impressed with this camera and lens. The 20 f1.7 is still one of the best micro four thirds lenses out there. This was taken from 30,000' from a plane heading for Spain. 1192
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 20 mm Aperture: f/6.3 Exposure Time: 10/13000 sec ISO: 100 01/06/12 Olympus ColoursAnother one taken during the same walk. This kit lens isn't bad at all I think though many criticise it. I'm not the pixel-peeper kind of person so maybe I don't really see what they're criticising. I either like an image or I don't. These wer taken with the E-P2 and the 14-42 kit lens. 1360
E-P2 Focal Length: 14 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 320 01/05/12 Olympus ColoursI really like Olympus colours. many say Olympus produced the best colours of all. This was taken last winter during a little walk. It was cold but still with some blue sky. The kind of conditions I like to out in. 1328
E-P2 Focal Length: 14 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 320 01/04/12 Sepia ToningI like playing around with B&W convertion and sometimes I actually apply some toning to the image. Some photographers can actually see in B&W but I don't belong to that group. Shame really because I really like B&W. I have to convert an image to see if it works or not and most of the time I delete the final image because I couldn't make up my mind if it worked or not.
This one I like though. 1089
