06/22/12 SMC Pentax-M 135 f3.5 on the Nex-5NThe last image from this lens for now. Lots of other images to show and lenses to test.
That bokeh is impressive and if you have a chance to purchase one of these, don't hesitate, grab it.
The lens is also quite short, but the PK-E mount adapter is pretty long. It does increase the length of the lens considerably on the Nex but nothing you can't handle. 1955
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/640 sec ISO: 100 06/21/12 SMC Pentax-M 135 f3.5 on the Nex-5NThis image just shows what the bokeh is like. Very nice. It took me a couple of tries to get that flower in focus though. The next post tomorrow will show a similar image to this one. 1785
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/1600 sec ISO: 100 06/20/12 SMC Pentax-M 135 f3.5 on the Nex-5NA word of advice with these older lenses, don't let the sun get too close to the front of the lens, you will lose contrast. I've experienced this with quite a few of the 135mm lenses and I've still got a couple to test. They all experience the same thing. If you have the sun behind you then the image quality is excellent. See the image in todays post. You can get this lens for very little and there are a lot of them out there on the market. 2332
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/500 sec ISO: 100 06/19/12 SMC Pentax-M 135 f3.5 on the Nex-5NBack to using manual focus lenses again. This is one I've been trying to test for months now but didn't have the time to do it. Very compact, very good build quality and in nearly perfect condition. If you want to see more images from this lens there is a small gallery here. It can deliver some very pleasing images but you will have to get used to focusing. The longer the focal length the less the depth of field. You focusing has to be good. I'm still practicing. 1745
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/800 sec ISO: 100 03/16/12 Pentax SMC 28 f2.8 on E-PL1These lenses can be bought on ebay for next to nothing. This one taken with the Pentax 28 f2.8 is one of my favourites from last year. Converted with Nik SFX2 (which is fabulous by the way) it shows what this lens is capable of. I think one of my purchases for 2012 with be Nik Colour Efex. But the things are so damned expensive! I also wanted to upgrade to Photoshop CS5, but I bought a new computer instead for less, and my CS3 now runs very fast. No need for that upgrade. I think the pricing of these software packages if way too high. I think if they brought the price down, many more people would buy it and their base customers would increase, making them more money in the end. But maybe I'm missing something here. 1780
