This is the last of the FA 43 f1.9 images for now, but I think I'll be using this a lot more when the weather gets a little better. It was ok on the Nex-5N and something that you can carry around all day without tiring out. The Nex-5N is really small and I don't think I want to use anything smaller and I never will. A little weight in the hand does seem to stabilize my hand and blurry images aren't really a problem. Of course using a tripod is always a better method, but not something you want to do when out on a stroll...especially when you not alone.

NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/60 sec ISO: 1000 • Sony • Pentax • FA 43 f1.9
02/28/13 Sony Nex-5N mounting an adapted Pentax FA 43 f1.9Since the weather was agin miserable and the sky a dull gray I kept looking down for some subjects. Setting the camera to auto-ISO and just selection an aperture appropriate for these subjects I could get some acceptable shutter speeds so hand holding wasn't really a problem. 1166
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/50 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • Pentax • FA 43 f1.9
02/27/13 Sony Nex-5N mounting an adapted Pentax FA 43 f1.9I like trees and I like taking photos of tree bark. Sounds strange maybe but you'll never get the same image twice. They will all be quite unique.
I should have stopped down anothe stop or two here as the top right isn't quite in focus. I sometimes forget that these lenses give a diference fild of view when mounted o theses APS-C cameras and you have to stop down a little more. This was taken at f4 and I really should have been at around f8.
Some day, I'll eventually get used to it...I hope. 1159

02/26/13 Sony Nex-5N mounting an adapted Pentax FA 43 f1.9The lens is quite small and not front heavy at all on the Nex-5N.
I think I'll try the FA 31 f1.8 next time out. A beautiful lens and one of the best ever made by any manufacturer. But, it is a lot longer than the 43 f1.9 and weighs nearly double, so it might be a better idea to put it on the Nex7 because it's bigger and I can grip it better. I should also think that there will be a lot of difference in image rendition between the two cameras. Alright, I'll have to test it on both. 1094

02/25/13 Sony Nex-5N mounting an adapted Pentax FA 43 f1.9I don't care what people say about Pentax, but their lenses are some of the best ever produced especiially the FA Limited lenses. I used the 43 f1.9 lens on this occasion and it really is a nice lens. Sharp with good rendition. Colour is accurate and manual focusing on the Nex system is very easy.
Here, the green moss on the stump cought my eye. A clump of green among a drab winter brown.
After a lot of rain in the last few weeks the moss is really a bright green, it sometimes hurts my eyes just to look at it. It's near fluoresence in colour. 1122

11/22/11 Voigtlaender Color Skopar 35 f2.5This is the Skopar agin at an aperture of aroun f4 or f5.6. That is one problem I find using these manual focus lenses on either a NEX or m4/3 cameras, either you remember which aperture you take every picture with or...well just forget it. I normally shoot wide open with these lenses but at times I just like to close the lens down and get everything in sharp focus. Here I just needed a couple of these leaves in focus. I was quite near the subject when I took this. 1786
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/200 sec ISO: 100 • Voigtlaender • Sony • manual focus • Nex-5N • Pentax • FA 43 f1.9 • Skopar 35 f2.5
11/21/11 Voigtlaender Color Skopar 35 f2.5I must say I love the quality of these lenses and the way reproduce the colour and the rendition in general. Doesn't look digital at all and is a real pleasure to look at. The Skopar 35 f2.5 is very well built and is tiny. Great on either the NEX or m4/3 cameras. You just have to get used to the handling. Very different from a normal DSLR. 1807
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/1600 sec ISO: 100 • Voigtlaender • Sony • manual focus • Nex-5N • Pentax • FA 43 f1.9 • Skopar 35 f2.5
11/20/11 Pentax FA 43 f1.9 on Nex-5NVery nice rendition in this image from the Pentax lens. I also have the FA 31 f1.8 which I will have to test. I missed a lot of images using it on the m4/3 cameras because of the difficulty in focusing at f1.8. 2003
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/2000 sec ISO: 100 • Voigtlaender • Sony • manual focus • Nex-5N • Pentax • FA 43 f1.9 • Skopar 35 f2.5
11/19/11 Pentax FA 43 f1.9 on Nex-5NI never got around to using this much on a digital Pentax camera. Maybe it was much better on film but it's very nice on the Nex-5N. I must use this a lot more in the coming weeks, especially nice at f1.9. 2124
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/1600 sec ISO: 100 • Voigtlaender • Sony • manual focus • Nex-5N • Pentax • FA 43 f1.9 • Skopar 35 f2.5
11/18/11 Pentax FA 43 f1.9 on Sony Nex-5NThe FA 43 f1.9 again stopped down about a stop. I really feel the rendition here is very good. Good contrast and colour too.
