NEX-7 Focal Length: 105 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/200 sec ISO: 100 11/06/16  Sony Nex-7 - Sony E PZ 18-105 f4 OSSWanting something in this focal length range for the Sony cameras I decided to purchase this lens. Now I've read some good reviews on it but also just as many bad reviews, so it seems that it's the luck of the draw when purchasing a copy. Mine seems to be an ok lens, I can't say anything very positive about it but nothing really bad either.
What could be a problem however, is the camera I'm using to test it, the Nex-7, which is a few generarion old. Even though it does perform pretty well with some lenses, it's not the fastest focusing camera on the planet, especially when compared to the newest generations from Sony. I think with one of the newer generation cameras this lens would perform a lot better. The images seem to be ok though, especially for web use. At some point I will aquire a more modern Sony APS-C camera, but the bank manager has put a stop to my loans right now 1229
