01/03/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6This is the type of image I really like to take during the autumn period. Don't we all?
Focusing is quick with this combination, and I didn't get one missed focused image during the outing. That was a total of some 500 images. So I can safely say that focusing is also accurate with the combination.
Nice colours on that image don't you think? 1887
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 109 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/250 sec ISO: 320 • autumn • colours • Panasonic • Lumix • 45-150 f4-5.6 • G5 • landscapes
01/02/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I did notice some noise creeping in at ISO 1600 on the G5. More than I like really and it's nowhere as good as the Olympus OM-D. Having said that, I might need to look into my development process. rthis was the first time I had done some G5 raws so I might have a problem there. I just can't see Panasonic churning out a camera after all this time with the amount of noise I was experiencing. 2581
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 80 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 1600 • autumn • colours • Panasonic • Lumix • 45-150 f4-5.6 • G5 • landscapes
01/01/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6Like I've said i the other posts, please don't take these images as a real test of this lens capabilities. By that I mean they were taken on a very quick walk through some woodland without much though process behind it. If you like, just call them snaps and have done with it.
The lens does focus very quickly with the G5t, I haven't tried it on any other camera at the time of this post. I might do that at a later date, or I'll just leave it altogether because the older cameras do NOT focus as fast as the G5. 2123
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 130 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/640 sec ISO: 160 • autumn • colours • Panasonic • Lumix • 45-150 f4-5.6 • G5 • landscapes
12/31/12 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6This is the last post of the year.
All these images were taken hand held. Light wasn't great so I think it proves that OIS works. ISO was normally at 1600 for all these images and had EC set for -1. I was still only getting 1/40th shutter speed at 103mm. Image is sharp so OIS seems to work pretty well. I would never have gotten this image if I didn't have OIS on, not in a million years.
And here is where I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
All the best for the coming year. 1333
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 103 mm Aperture: f/5.5 Exposure Time: 1/40 sec ISO: 1600 12/30/12 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I know that ultimately the photographer is responsible for the end image but I think the lens and camera has a lot to do with it as well. Especially in the digital age when the sensor, processing engine etc differs from camera to camera, it really does make a difference. For instance, Panasonic images tend to be cool, Olympus have a great blue tone to their images and Sigma don't know any other colour exists except yellow. That might be a bit harsh but that's the way I see it. 1314
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 128 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 200 12/29/12 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I know that the following images are not masterpieces, they were taken on a short walk through a local wooded area just to see what the lens can do.
Being autumn I think most photographers tend to take some autumn images, just because the colours are superb. Well, I tend to do this anyway but then again I'm no pro. 1783
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 128 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/30 sec ISO: 1600 12/28/12 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I was so impressed by the Panasonic G5s performance I wanted to try a longer focal length lens on it of a more modern design. This is one on Panasonics newest lenses, doesn't cost an arm and a leg and fits in great with the 14-45 kit lens which I still use. It's one of the best kit lenses on the market today (much much better than the 14-42 which they have). It's small light and feels well built.
I have to say right off that this lens is a GOOD LIGHT lens, no doubt about it. Although facusing was ok in dark or poor lighting it did make a difference when using it it in good light. 1473
DMC-G5 Focal Length: 121 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/60 sec ISO: 1600 12/20/12 Olympus mZD 17 f2.8 IIIAnother one with the 17 f2.8. Just loved the way the sun was shining below the tree bathing the lawn yellow light. I had to pull the shadows in this one, but I think it turned out ok. When I do this with some images contrast decreases and you can tell that the image has been manipulated. 1412
E-M5 Focal Length: 17 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/40 sec ISO: 200 • Tuscany • evening • mZD 17 f2.8 • Olympus
12/19/12 Olympus mZD 17 f2.8 IIAnother evening shot with the 17 f2.8. What actually attracted me to this shot were the chimneys. I think it's something typical Italian I something I haven't really seen before. You can also see that the image is quite sharp, well sharp enough for my usage anyway. 1876
E-M5 Focal Length: 17 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/320 sec ISO: 200 12/18/12 Olympus mZD 17 f2.8The 17 f2.8 for m4/3 come to used more on this occasion that at any other time since I've owned the lens. It gets knocked but I found it ideal in many situations. Even this image was taken hand held. Another couple of minutes and it was really black out there. 2851
