03/24/11 CloudsHave I mentioned how much I enjoy photographing clouds? Well, I do, just in case I didn't mention it. We were out on a little 4 hour walk when I looked behind me. This is what I saw. That cloud coming over the hill looks like it had some precipitation in it. It did. One good thing though, we got back before the heavens opened up. I'll be posting an image soon showing what actually came down. Not nice for those that were still out.
Some nice contrast here between the sky and the very yellow gorse that seems to everywhere in the Spanish mountains. I also like the olive tree on the center left. Those branches makes the tree come to life. 3446
E-PL1 Focal Length: 29 mm Aperture: f/6.3 Exposure Time: 1/800 sec ISO: 200 03/24/11 Spring at LastAt last! Seems I've been waiting for months for spring to arrive. Well, in Spain anyway. This bee was busy last week, all his interest was geared for the flowers now open. Once back home, I realised how much sooner spring arrived in Spain. Had a bit of a shock as I stepped off the aeroplane. Anyway, won't be long now. 2271
E-PL1 Focal Length: 150 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/320 sec ISO: 200 03/22/11 Inflight imagesI really like taking photographs when flying. I've been really lucky getting window seats and looking out of windows that are pretty clear. On this occation on a fight to Spain, I was lucky enough to sight a rainbow, and a very intense one at that. Another favourite of mine are the different cloud formations one encounters, of which there will be a picture or two in the coming entries. 2684
E-P2 Focal Length: 17 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/320 sec ISO: 100 03/09/11 Square FormatI like this one. Backlit leaves just after being watered.
I must be getting better at this square format.
Nice light. 1908
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 45 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 10/600 sec ISO: 100 03/08/11 Another square imageHere's another one. Is it balanced? Still not there but this format has promise. I think I'm going to like this. 1218
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 45 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 10/500 sec ISO: 100 03/08/11 Square FormatThe more I use the square format, the more I like it.
It's not easy to use but slows you down and makes you think more. It calls for symmetry in your images. By that I mean that it has to be balanced. I don't think I'm quite there yet, but I'm practicing. 1596

03/05/11 Spring on the march.I like these type of images, especially at this time of year.
It means that spring is finally starting to show her face.
Not long now. 2200
DMC-GF1 Focal Length: 45 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 10/2000 sec ISO: 100 03/05/11 Spring is on the march..!!!This and the next image are pretty much high key.
Just testing the Panasonic GF-1 with the 14-45 kit lens.
Not bad at all. I find it much sharper than the 14-42 kit lens. 2227
