OK I admit it, I'm a gear freak. After hearing about the flooding in Thailand and the announcement by Sony that they have delayed the delivery of the Nex-7 to Europe indefinably, I decided to buy a Sony Nex-5N. I had read a great deal about the camera and read many a review about it. All of them seemed to be very happy with the camera and after reading a couple of reviews of the Nex-7 (http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/) I decided to purchase the Nex-5N. I think this delay will be for several months and we can probably see a Nex-7 in Europe maybe June 2012 (if we're lucky).

The reason I bpought the camera was for legacy manual focus lenses. Although I've been using these on m4/3 for some time, the peeking function on the Sony models make it a LOT easier to manual focus. The EVF is also very, very good. I just can't use a camera at arms length, just doesn't work for me. What really does interest me int he Nex-7 is the amount of dials you have for instant control. I use EC a lot and the Nex-7 has the dial for that. Also, the inbuilt EVF is unresistable. Until then however, the Nex-5N is a real alternative. All in all, a very good camera.
