08/13/14  Panasonic GM1 - Panasonic G Vario 12-32 f3.5-5.6Wanting a smaller take everywhere camera I decided to try out the Panasonic GM1. After using it on a couple of occasions I was quite pleased with the image quality. The lens is actually a marvel and can of course be used on any other m43 camera.
What spoils the camera for me is the little wheel you have on the back. Every time I use the EV comp button and turn the wheel I tend to change some other function so this, for me, is really a deal breaker. I'll keep it for those rare occasions where a little camera can be of use but it will be used in a more or less P&S role. Another dealbreaker is of course the lack of an EVF. I hate having to put my reading glasses on for these things. This is indeed the last camera I will buy without an EVF. I've now started to look at the RX100 III. That looks like an interesting camera with a built-in EVF. I think I'll wait for awhile for some others to come on the market. It seems to be the new thing, this pop-up EVF. 910

I enjoy it most on Fujifilm and Sony cameras because it's easier to focus on those cameras. 1164
