Well, I never thought I'd be writing this post. I suppose you could call me fickle after this. I saw on TheDigitalStory a review of a DSLR and it impressed me so much I actually bought one. I don't believe it myself really but I just got mailed saying the equipment is on it's way to me.
I've had Pentax in the past and image quality was always tops, especially with their prime lenses which I still have. I really missed the image quality from those lenses and when I read that article I couldn't resist. I never thought I would go back again to a DSLR but hey, let's see how it goes.
The lenses I missed were the 21 f3.2 Limited; FA 31 f1.8; 40 f2.8 Limited; 70 f2.4 Limited but the lens that I think is one of the best lenses of all time is the 35 f2.8 Macro Limited. All excellent primes though.
I must admit, the above lenses are not the HD design but the earlier smc version. I won't be replacing them because I find the image quality just fine. Two lenses I did order with the camera:
1. HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 ED Limited DC WR
2. HD PENTAX-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE
The first one has a nice range and pretty fast with an aperture of f2.8-4.0. The second because I wanted some reach. It's had between 4 and 5 stars in the reviews I've read so I think I can count on it for some nice images. A bit slow on the long end but with the improvements in sensor technology and IBIS I think I'll manage.
