Tried this combination as my holiday do everything lens. Just dislike changing lenses when on holiday with the family. Takes too much time and irritates the rest of the group. Result? OK but it is rather large. I think I'll revert to my M43 or Fuji systems for this sort of thing. They offer ideal size and the results are excellent.

Now I've read some good reviews on it but also just as many bad reviews, so it seems that it's the luck of the draw when purchasing a copy. Mine seems to be an ok lens, I can't say anything very positive about it but nothing really bad either.
What could be a problem however, is the camera I'm using to test it, the Nex-7, which is a few generarion old. Even though it does perform pretty well with some lenses, it's not the fastest focusing camera on the planet, especially when compared to the newest generations from Sony. I think with one of the newer generation cameras this lens would perform a lot better. The images seem to be ok though, especially for web use. At some point I will aquire a more modern Sony APS-C camera, but the bank manager has put a stop to my loans right now 1224
