Voigtlaender 50 f1.5

Voigtlaender 50 f1.5

As promised, here are two images from the Voigtlaender 50 f1.5. They look ok but it took a bit more work to get the look. Quite a bit more contrast was applied but they do sharpen up pretty nicely.
These two were taken on Saturday, a day before the Yashica images. Lighting was a little diferent, but not by much.

Yashica 55 f2 Manual Focus Lens II

Yashica 55 f2 Manual Focus Lens II

Just to show the difference between the Yashica and Voigtlaender lenses I'll post a couple from the Voigtlaender later today. This is another one from the Yashica, taken yesterday on a little walk down town.

Yashica 55 f2 Manual Focus Lens

Yashica 55 f2 Manual Focus Lens

What an amazing lens. Looks battered to hell but I thought I'd test it anyway. Very easy to focus the Olympus E-PL1 or E-P2. Images are sharp clear with great contrast. Better the the Voigtlaender 50 f1.5 lens which cost a lot more. The Voigtlaender is lacking in contrast and not as sharp as the Yashica.
On a m4/3 camera this lens gives a field of view equal to a 110mm on FF format. I think I need to lookinto something around 28mm which will give me 56mm on FF. Nothing too wide though, as my shooting tends to be at the tele end of all my lenses.

Still trying to get manual focus right. Takes a lot of practice to get this right. But...I'm still trying but enjoying it very much.

Voigtlaender 85 f3.5 Adapted for mFT

Voigtlaender 85 f3.5 Adapted for mFT

Just received this lens for my mFT system. Manual focusing of course, but it's good fun. And it's possible for me to do it even. My eyesight isn't what it was.
I think I'll get some more cheap ones off ebay, maybe a 25 and 50. Then I'll have everything covered I think.
Musn't forget the adapters too. For anyone thinking of doing this, just give it a try, it really is good fun.

Learning Manual Focusing with the Olympus mFT 75-300

Learning Manual Focusing with the Olympus mFT 75-300

This is really fun. Trying to manual focus with this lens on the E-PL1.
Had a hard time to begin with, but that EVF sure does help. Takes you back to days gone by when everything was manual. I think I'm going to try a couple of legacy lenses. Hello ebay, here I come.

Olympus mFT 75-300 f4.8-6.7 ED lens

Olympus mFT 75-300 f4.8-6.7 ED lens

One of my first shots from this lens. It's smaller than the Panasonic 100-300 and feels very nice when zooming.
Focusing is smooth and the lens is very well made. Let's see what this lens can do against the Pana 100-300.

Flowers

Flowers

I must admit I like taking pictures of flowers. Each one is different and a lot are just perfect.
This one again taken with the Olympus 50 f2 macro lens on an Olympus E-PL1. I have to use the EVF though. Must be old fashioned in this respect.

Olympus 50 f2 Macro Lens

Olympus 50 f2 Macro Lens

One of the best lenses ever produced. Very sharp and contrasty. It is a 1:2 macro lens meaning it requires an extension tube for true 1:1 macro. Very good portrait lens though, you might also have to soften the images in post-processing. They images are really that sharp.
